The following is the schedule of social events and gatherings for the 2014 Funeral Directors Convention and Expo.
Come and get it. With exhibits featuring what's new and exciting in the industry, the exhibit hall is an integral part of the learning and professional development that takes place during our Convention. Join your colleagues and other event attendees for a glass of wine and some light refreshments as you explore the breadth of products, services and tools available to the modern day funeral professional.
The annual NJSFDA business session takes a look at the yearís achievements and sets the stage for the associationís future goals. Proposed resolutions will be voted on; officers sworn in; and scholarships awarded to deserving funeral service students. Special reports from the association president, secretary/treasurer and executive director round out the agenda.
This meeting will also feature a special educational presentation entitled, Monument Builders of New Jersey v. Archdiocese of Newark: Religious and Secular Conflicts and the U.S. Funeral Service Marketplace, presented by NJSFDA Executive Director Wilson H. Beebe Jr.
All convention participants are welcome to attend. This meeting has been submitted for one (1) CEU.
Our certified celebrant has comprised a heartwarming tribute in honor of the NJSFDA members who died this past year. Share memories and reflect with family and friends during this annual memorialization. All are welcome.
Not just nostalgia for the good ol’ days here. NJSFDA Past Presidents gather together to bond over common experiences and reflect upon the notable achievements that helped shape the future of our organization. This annual luncheon immediately follows the Service
Business casual attire, boots, jeans, bandanas, ten-gallon hats… it’s all good. Head to the convention’s “Hitchin’ Post Tavern” to toss back a happy hour drink or two with your fellow conventioneers and nibble on some tasty munchies. Join us as we create a honky-tonk bar atmosphere filled with live modern country music, finger-licking morsels, and your choice of wine, beer and soda. Prepare to be wowed by the live sounds of New Jersey’s own country band, After the Reign.
Don’t go moseying off now ya’ hear. After happy hour ends, all are welcome to hang around the tavern for more live music, food and libations as Matthews Casket Division kicks up their spurs at the company’s annual convention party. You’re sure to have a hootin’ rootin’ good time.
